Dr. Tina Wang named Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology

Dr. Tina Wang, professor at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), has been elected to the American Academy of Microbiology’s 2026 class of Fellows, joining a select group of 63 internationally recognized scientists honored for their exceptional contributions to microbiology.

Fellows of the American Academy of Microbiology, an honorific leadership group within the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), are elected annually through a selective, peer-review process based on their records of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology.

“I am truly honored to be elected to the American Academy of Microbiology and grateful to my colleagues for this recognition,” said Wang. “This achievement reflects the incredible support, collaboration, and shared commitment to discovery that I experience every day at UTMB.”
