Dr. Shana Kalaria was born and raised in Orange County, California where she graduated from high school as Valedictorian. She then attended UCLA majoring in Applied Mathematics and graduating as Summa Cum Laude. She left California for medical school at Penn State University where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honors at the top of her class. She then moved to the south for residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston where she gained experience, especially in aesthetic surgery. She concurrently completed an MBA at West Texas A&M University to gain an understanding of business. During her residency, she operated alongside the top plastic surgeons in Houston and performed over 3000 procedures.
Dr. Kalaria participates in many research projects, has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, and enjoys working with and teaching residents. She is a candidate member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Society, and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
