Ravi S. Dr. Radhakrishnan is the Chief of Pediatric Surgery, an Assistant Professor of Surgery, and the Surgical Director of the Pediatric ECMO program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He received his undergraduate degree in Bio-engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA and an MBA in general management from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX.
After graduating from medical school at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, he completed his general surgery residency and an NIH T32 sponsored research fellowship in Shock, Resuscitation and Intestinal Physiology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. In addition, he completed a Pediatric Surgery fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Radhakrishnan has won multiple teaching awards and is the author of over 30 scientific publications. He was also recognized as a "Top Doctor" for 2013 by Houstonia Magazine. His clinical interests are in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Portal Hypertension/Complex Hepatobiliary Surgery.
Sarah is the nurse practitioner for our pediatric surgery team. She graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston first with a Bachelors degree in nursing and then went on to complete her Masters degree in nursing. Sarah assists in Dr. Radhakrishnan’s clinic seeing patients as well as seeing patients while they are in the hospital. She is available to see consults in the hospital and also helps get referrals seen in clinic as soon as possible. Sarah helps with patient education and discharge planning as needed. She is always available to answer any questions you may have about your child care.
Kym is our administrative support for Pediatric Surgery. Kym is in charge of scheduling all of Dr. Radhakrishnan’s clinic appointments as well as positing cases for the OR. Kym manages all of the referrals received for the office and works to get patients seen as soon as possible. She is also available to assist with Medicaid transportation and FMLA papers as well as any other paperwork you may need help with. For patients with multiple health issues, Kym is also available to help with coordinating care and appointments for your child in order to minimize your time spent in clinics. If you have any questions about your child’s care, Kym is more than willing to help you find the answers you need.
