Certified specialists in Undersea and Dive Medicine, also known as hyperbaric medicine, at the UTMB Hyperbaric Center prevent and treat medical complications of divers due to increased ambient pressure or pressure changes in gas underwater as well as other individuals working in altered atmospheric conditions.
Emergency Care of Diving Injuries
For a diving emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Our colleagues at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston staff the sole regional center with emergency hyperbaric capability at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center if needed.
