UTMB Ranked Among Top 100 hospitals for Cardiac Care in the U.S.

The University of Texas Medical Branch has been ranked among the top 100 hospitals for cardiac care in the United States as listed in the 2025 edition of Newsweek/Statista’s America’s Best Specialized Hospitals. 

“We are deeply honored to be named among the Top 100 hospitals in the nation for Best Cardiac Care in the 2025 Newsweek/Statista America’s Best Specialized Hospitals report. This marks the second consecutive year that UTMB has received national recognition for excellence in cardiovascular care,” said Dr. Hani Jneid, vice president of Cardiovascular Operations at UTMB and chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine. “This distinction reflects the exceptional dedication of our multidisciplinary teams and our unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, innovation and patient-centered care.  

“With the growth of our new Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and the upcoming launch of the Sealy Heart and Vascular Institute, we are proud to be building a nationally recognized Center of Excellence—one that not only delivers cutting-edge clinical care but also advances academic excellence, education, research and fellows’ education,” said Jneid, who also is director of the Sealy Heart and Vascular Institute  and John Sealy Distinguished Centennial Chair in Cardiology. “This ranking is a powerful affirmation of our mission and a meaningful milestone in our journey to provide world-class heart care to the communities we serve.” 

Newsweek/Statista polled tens of thousands of medical professionals and hospital managers via a nationwide online survey to gather the data used in the America’s Best Cardiac Hospitals 2025 ranking. Their responses were factored in alongside publicly available hospital quality metrics, patient satisfaction scores and patient-reported outcome measures implementation scores. The rankings  were published recently on Newsweek.
