Good Samaritan Foundation 2021 Excellence in Nursing Awards
Twenty-two UTMB Health nurses and educators from throughout the organization were recognized for nursing excellence in 2021 by the Good Samaritan Foundation.
Sharron Forest, DNP, APRN, NNP-BC, associate professor in the doctor of nursing practice program, was named Gold Medalist in Nursing Education.

The Good Samaritan Foundation annually recognizes "best and brightest nursing professionals in the Galveston-Houston region as nominated by their peers and chosen by members of the Awards Selection Committee. A total of 641 nominations
were received. Although winners were recognized on Oct. 12, UTMB recipients were unable to attend due to the high number of COVID cases in the region; however they were represented by their virtual counterparts who attended in their
behalf. CONGRATULATIONS to Sharron Forest and all the UTMB winners. Thank you for a job well-done
