August 12, 2014, The Lunch Bunch presents:

Healthy Relationships Don’t Just Happen:
Preventing dating violence and bullying

Jeff Temple, Ph.D. Whether it’s school time or summer time, teen dating violence and bullying are serious problems in the U.S. Current data shows that 10.3% of school students in America have been physically injured on purpose by someone they were dating. And, 19.6% students have been bullied on school property. Source: “Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance.” Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Report June 13, 2014.

Learn more about preventing teenage dating violence and bullying from one of UTMB’s experts on adolescent health, Jeff Temple, PhD. As an expert on adolescent health and risky behavior, his research primarily focuses on interpersonal relationships with a particular focus on teen dating violence. He is the Director of Behavioral Health and Research in the Department of Ob/Gyn, Associate Professor and Licensed Psychologist.

Our audience spoke, we listened.

In May 2012, we began hosting The Breakfast Club, an early morning session to share interesting and relevant health information and tips. You told us lunchtime would be more convenient and easier to squeeze in your busy day, so we've adjusted accordingly. The Breakfast Club became the Lunch Bunch, meeting every other month. Now, we bring you the Lunch Bunch monthly! Join us the second Tuesday of the month on your lunch break, from noon to 1 p.m., for a free light lunch. All sessions are free and hosted at the Specialty Care Center at Victory Lakes. A door prize will be given at every event. Visit for more detailed information on upcoming topics from great speakers.
