A Level I Trauma Center for Advanced Neurologic Care
The UTMB Health Neurocritical Care program provides advanced, around-the-clock care for people with serious neurologic conditions. A specialized team—including neurologists, neurosurgeons, neurointerventionists, and critical care staff—works together to monitor, treat, and support recovery.
Care takes place in the Neuroscience Critical Care Unit at John Sealy Hospital, where patients are treated for complex conditions affecting the brain, spine, and nervous system, such as stroke, brain injury, aneurysms, infections, and seizures.
As a Level I Trauma Center with a comprehensive stroke program, patients have access to the highest level of emergency neurologic care, including rapid diagnosis, advanced treatments, and 24/7 neuroendovascular services when needed.
