“As of Oct 1, 2022, the Clear Lake Campus can provide our community all the services that a Level 2 Trauma Center has to offer,” said Julie Matson, program director of Trauma Services for UTMB Health System.

The Galveston Area Ambulance Authority and Galveston County Emergency Services District No. 2 have had an active open fracture protocol for about two years.

“EMS as a whole is a chronically underrepresented demographic when it comes to first responders. I chose to participate in this event because I wanted to increase awareness of what EMS does and how vital it is to allied health as a whole,” said Ian Davis, operations manager for the Galveston Area Ambulance Authority.

UTMB Health’s League City Campus Hospital has a Level 3 Trauma Facility designation, an achievement that furthers the organization’s mission of developing one of the largest, most comprehensive trauma networks in the region.

In 2021, the UTMB Clear Lake Campus Hospital’s trauma center earned a Level 3 designation.
