Dr. Tristi Muir is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She is also the Medical Director of the Pelvic Health and Continence Ceneter and Medical Director of UTMB’s Women’s Service Line.
Dr. Muir received her medical degree from Mayo Medical School in 1993. She completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center, Scott and White Hospital. She then completed a 3-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic. Concurrently, Dr. Muir received fellowship training in Advanced Laparoscopy. Dr. Tristi Muir is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist and was elected to the AOA Medical Honor Society in 1997.
Tristi Muir left San Antonio, Texas and the United States Air Force as Lt. Colonel in 2005, to join the staff of Texas A&M Health Science Center, Scott and White Hospital. She became the director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She was instrumental in the creation of a 3-year Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Scott and White Hospital. She joined the staff of UTMB in days after Hurricane Ike in 2008.
Dr. Muir is passionate about broadening the scope of options available to women to treat urinary and fecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. She has presented her research nationally and internationally. Additionally, Dr. Muir speaks at national and international meetings on the pelvic health challenges that women encounter. Dr. Muir has received the Faculty Teacher of the Year and Resident Teacher of the Year awards. Tristi Muir is a resident of League City with her husband Andrew and three grown children and two grandsons.
Dr. Jurnalov is a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Division of Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He earned his medical degree in 1992 from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, in Lexington, KY. Dr. Jurnalov then went on to complete his residency inObstetrics and Gynecology in 1996 at the same institution. He then completed a three-year Female Pelvic Health and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, from June 1997 to June of 2000. There, he was a recipient of the United Kingdom/United States Traveling Fellowship for 1999.
Dr. Jurnalov joined the faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UTMB in July of 2000. In 2008 – 2009, Dr. Jurnalovcompleted his Certificate in Medical Management from the joint Baylor College of Medicine / Rice University program in the Jones School of Management and Executive Education. In May 2011, he completed his MBA with an emphasis on Management at the Jesse H. Jones School of Management at Rice University in Houston, TX.
Dr. Jurnalov is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and received his subspecialty board certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He completed the accreditation for the Fundamentals of Laparoscopy Surgery Program at UTMB in 2011.
Dr. Jurnalov has a clinical interest in all aspects of Urogynecology and female pelvic floor dysfunction, and is a proud team member of the UTMB Pelvic Floor and Continence Center based at the Victory Lakes location in League City.
Dr. Jurnalov and his wife, Sabrina, and their two children reside in League City.
Eleanor Forbes is a Board Certified Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner. She received both her Registered General Nurse and Registered Midwife licenses from Manchester University in the United Kingdom, in 1988 and 1991 respectively after she had already gained an undergraduate and graduate degree in the field of Organizational Management and Industrial Relations from The University of Salford.
Eleanor worked as a general nurse in gynecology and endoscopy before pursuing her goal of becoming a midwife. As a midwife, she has practiced at both Wythenshawe Maternity Unit and Liverpool Maternity Hospital in the North West of England. Developing further emergency skills she became a Community Midwife for the Vale Royal in Cheshire responsible for the care of over 250 mothers and infants in the area.
Moving to the USA, she received her MSN in Women’s Healthcare in 2007 being honored with the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. Eleanor’s knowledge of women’s issues is varied with particular experience in hormone balancing, over 6 years of infertility experience and almost 3 years working with teenagers. She returns to UTMB from Baylor College of Medicine’s Teen Health Clinics.
Eleanor is not only passionate about her patients’ wellbeing; she is also passionate about her colleagues, and education. As Immediate Past President of the Galveston Coalition of Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses she has organized a number of professional conferences, was adjunct faculty for UTMB’s BSN students along with MSN and Doctoral candidates for universities both in and out of the State of Texas.
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner’s scope helps patients find the right plan of care to treat them both in body and mind. Performing histories, physicals, doing tests, ordering diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, whilst an integral part of her services, come second to listening to her patients and empowering them with knowledge.

Below are the forms we would like you to complete prior to and bring with you to your first appointment, which will last approximately one hour. An incontinence consultation and a pelvic examination will be performed by a Urogynecologist. In addition, diagnostic bladder testing may be performed to assist the team in developing a treatment plan. Education will be provided on bladder care habits, types of incontinence, treatments, and options. Further testing, such as anal manometry and referrals to other members of the multidisciplinary team may also be made during your first appointment. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled to evaluate progress and make adjustments, as needed.
