Clinic Locations
UTMB operates a network of primary and specialty care clinics and  maternal and child health clinics located in Galveston and surrounding cities. Some are on campus, some are on Galveston Island, many others offer services throughout Greater Houston and Southeast Texas.

 

Scheduling an Appointment
There are several ways to schedule an outpatient appointment at one of our clinics.

• Both new and current patients can  request an appointment online.
  Multiple security measures are used to protect the transmission and storage of electronic information. Don't use the online service if you need urgent care or emergency care.
  
• New patients may also call the UTMB Access Center to make an appointment.

• Current patients with a UTMB identification number may choose to call a specific clinic to schedule an appointment.
  Note: Some health plans require a referral from a primary care physician for specialty care services.

 

Cancellations and Rescheduling
For the sake of other patients who are waiting to see our physicians, please don't be a "no-show." If you can't keep your appointment, please give us at lease 24 hours advance notice.

About Your Clinic Visit
New patients should check in at the clinic registration desk about 30 minutes before their appointment. Current patients should check in about 15 minutes before their scheduled visit.

To help our staff provide you with the very best health care, please have the following information available at the time of your clinic visit.

Medical Information

• A list of all medications you are taking and their dosages
• Other pertinent medical information, such as lab reports, x-rays or a summary of your medical history

Other Information

• Your social security number or UTMB identification number
• Proof of health insurance (insurance card or policy), or documents required to apply for financial assistance
• A list of questions you may want to ask your doctor
• Unless prior arrangements have been made, UTMB requires payment for the cost of outpatient services not payable by insurance coverage at the time of your visit.

 

Parking for Clinics
Public parking is available in close proximity to all UTMB clinics.

• If your appointment is in the University Hospital Clinics Building on the UTMB campus, please park in Public Garage #2. Parking tokens are available for clinic patients who park in a UTMB-owned garage or lot, including Garage # 2.
• Metered curbside parking is limited, but is also available at various locations.
• If your appointment is at one of our community-based clinics, all feature convenient and usually free parking.

UTMB Clinic Physicians
The physicians on the UTMB Clinics staff are all members of the Faculty Group Practice of Medicine. Depending on your specific needs, at least one of these faculty physicians will be your primary caregiver during your clinic visits.

Because UTMB is a medical teaching facility, you may also talk with or be examined by other physicians, called residents or fellows, who are preparing to become specialists or sub specialists in a particular area of medicine. In addition, medical students from the UTMB School of Medicine often assist faculty physicians. All medical evaluations and care provided by residents, fellows, and medical students are coordinated and closely supervised by one of more of the clinics' faculty physicians.
